WHO I AM AND WHAT I DO

As a depth-centered psychotherapist, my mission is to help you better understand and connect with the realest self that you are—the self that has a profound ability to know exactly how to live a life of meaning and fulfillment. Awareness always proceeds change, and a large chunk of the work in therapy with me involves slowing down and noticing internal processes. I want to help you shift from automatic into manual drive while you re-orient to what makes your life feel balanced and open to new possibilities. Here we have an opportunity to get curious about beliefs that may be contributing to conflict in relationships and stagnation in life. I take a slightly different approach to issues that may be showing up—listening to the symptoms as indications of your psyche's attempt to heal itself.

My practice integrates evidence-based and heart-centered theories of mindful self-compassion, interpersonal neurobiology, and the wisdom of humor. I specialize in helping clients with anxiety, attention deficit and focus problems, and existential issues that arise from everyday life in the modern world. I have received formal training in EMDR and AEDP following my education at Pacifica Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. Prior to becoming a therapist, I made documentary films and photographs, and creativity informs a large part of my practice. I have a passion for learning, and I never underestimate the power of new information. By the same token, I never underestimate the power of a good nap. I reside in Austin, TX with my son, partner, and dog. I hold an LPC (License #78357), MA, and NCC.
